Ready to go

Ok ... so tomorrow is my flight out of Philadelphia directly to Madrid.  I will get there the morning of the 1st.  I will already be late for my orientation but they are just happy that I can make a portion of the training.
A few things that you should know.....
1. I am 6 hours ahead so keep that in mind when trying to contact me via skype. (userid pagemeat like my AIM s/n)
2. I will be traveling and not have a permanent place to live for at least the first 3 weeks.  I am hoping that it will not take that long to update people but I am trying to be practical.
3. The town is Tarazona, Aragon and I will be teaching 16 yr olds up to adults which is very daunting because in my mind kids would have been easier to teach.
4. I am teaching English language and conversation which as my parents would say is a laugh and a half because I have never been known as proficient in my native language.  I have the grades from grade school and high school to prove it, as well as the many mistakes I will make in this blog.
Barring any more last minute changes of plan the next time I update I will be in Spain! Adios.

Minor Setback

Well readers today I got a call at 3 o'clock from US Airways canceling my flight on Tuesday.
The reason for the cancelation? A country wide strike. So as of right now I do not have a flight. I am going to the consulate in New York on Monday to get answers as well as my visa.
On a good note I am all ready to go so I can leave as soon and the strike is over and I have my visa!
I promise to keep you all 2 of you who actually read this posted.

Getting Started

OK, so it is almost a week till I leave for Spain and I wanted to start this blog to keep you all in the loop.  Unlike a certain sister and cousin I know, I promise to update as frequently as I can and keep it short and interesting.

The first interesting thing I will explain is my URL choice because only a few readers will understand. At PVI high school my freshman year we were all assigned "Spanish" names as an ice breaker.  It also helped the students get  more comfortable with the culture, mine was Pilar.

Before I forget, I will have a computer there with a web-cam and I hope to have some kind of Internet service.  So, for those of you who want to keep in touch I have Skype and recommend you get it too! Email me your user name so that I may add you to my contact list!

Adios!
